Aged and Community Services News
One of the best sources of information to keep you up to date on the latest developments, announcements and events in the industry is provided by ACSA.

Aged and Community Services Australia (ACSA) is the national peak body in Australia representing over 1,100 church and charitable and community based organisations providing accommodation and care services to over 700,000 older people, people with a disability and their carers.

Their Aged care News section includes a National Report. This fortnightly report provides concise and up to date information on issues, projects, action and events around the aged care sector.

Student Training Incentives

ACETI has been designed to assist eligible aged care workers undertake education and training programs by providing incentive payments. Eligible students can receive cash incentives - for Cert III and IV this can be $1,000. For more detail click here.

 

New DoHA Funding round?

The next round of Department of Health and Ageing funding (ACWVET) is due to be announced around the November timeframe. If you are one of the many employers who have asked us to apply for funding on your behalf in the past, we will advise you of next stepsfor this funding round as soon as they become known.

Community Services Skilling Plan Grants for 2011

The Community Services Skilling Plan is a workforce skilling and development initiative through the Department of Communities and the Department of Education and Training.


As part of the Community Services Skilling Plan the HACC VET Engagement Strategy, a regionally-based model, is being implemented to provide a comprehensive and sustainable skilling program that includes a range of training grants.

COLLEGE UPDATES

New Staff

We have a number of new faces at the College who are helping to provide better support for students and better linkages with the needs of industry employers.

Catherine joined the administration team as a trainee late last year and has quickly become a highly valued asset.

Lisa also joined us last yearas our Program and Compliance Manager and maintains an uncompromising focus on quality programs and processes.

Jess is our new Training Program Coordinator, with key focus on PPP program delivery. Her strong background and experience in the VET sector are invaluable and she has already made an enormous difference to the team.

We have also welcomed Emma and Cate to our team of trainers, both of whom have strong backgrounds as RNs and bring a lively and refreshing approach to training delivery.

PPP Funded Training

Royal College of Healthcare has now trained over 300 students in Certificate III in Aged Care under PPP funding.
